OUR PROCESS

Every step in your new boat deck is completely and proudly templated, designed, fabricated, and installed here on the First Coast by Adam and Paul. We're not a fabricator and installer of another company's material. We're not outsourcing this step or that step. We do it all here locally. Sco Jags!

Step 1

TEMPLATE

Every custom job begins with a custom template. Boats are still handmade, which means that, when you want a high-quality boat deck, fitment has to be tight - this means a custom template every time. With 2 means of custom templating, mechanical digitizing and photogrammetry, we have a solution for whatever your project is.

STEP 2

DESIGN

There's no copy and pasting when it comes our design phase. Whether you want completely custom patterning or just a simple logo, our design team will find, recreate, and create the exact design you're wanting for your project. Previews are provided before any material is fabricated to ensure designs are exactly what you want.

STEP 3

FABRICATE

We have 2 tools at our disposal to fabricate your material - CNC Routers and Lasers - and we utilize them with the highest level of precision and quality. Our projects undergo constant checks throughout the process to make sure our work exceeds your expectations. No rough pocket cuts or jagged profiles over here. CNC routing physically removes the top 3mm of our 6mm material, exposing the bottom color and leaving beautiful contrast behind. Laser engraving slightly burns or engraves the top layer of foam, darkening it and is utilized on smaller or more intricate designs when the router's toolpaths might be too large or when a flatter surface is desired as opposed to CNC routing.

STEP 4

INSTALL

A solid argument can be made that the most important step in this process is installation. If installation isn't perfect, the 3 previous steps don't matter at all. This step begins with a good clean, followed by a removal of all further contaminants that might be on the installation area. This is to ensure that our 3M Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive has a perfect bond with the installation area and you can enjoy your decking for many years to come.
